Pastel Workshop with Chris Gray – Still Life Flowers in a Glass Vase

AIMS

To explore the shapes and colours created as light moves over the objects, through the water and echoes on the background and foreground.

To exploit the unique qualities of pastel from misty delicate layering through to bold, strong strokes. Also it’s range of colour from subtle neutrals to intense colour.

BRING

Surface: Pastelmat or Sennelier Pastel Card or medium grit paper eg Uart any colour. An off cut would be useful to try out colours.

Soft Pastels: as many as you can, include some harder ones if you have them.

A soft and hard paintbrush, rags, tissues.

One or two flowers, and glass jar.

Lunch.
